Spring Volunteer Opportunities

Year after year I receive calls from Beach Captains and volunteers looking for cleanups to do during the Spring season. Below is a list of some volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups and organizations that will be taking place during the Spring. NEW YORK CITY & 5 BOROUGHS

 

Prospect Park - It's My Park Day! - Saturday, May 20th, 10 AM to 1 PM. The cleanup will happen on Prospect Park Lookout Hill. Click here for a list of our weekend events.

Point Lookout - Beach, Park & Cove Spring Clean Up Saturday, April 29, 2017 9 AM Prompt @ the Civic Beach Pavilion. Rain or Shine. Sponsored by: The Point Lookout Civic Association. Come and lend a hand to clean up the beach, park and cove. Refreshments will be served and community service credit hours available. Recommended gear: gloves, pocket knife or scissors, hat long pants, sneakers or boots and sun block (hopefully we will need it). Email:info@pointlookoutcivic.org. The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation conducts beach clean-ups once a month at several different locations around Long Island. The clean-ups are held the first Saturday of each month from 10 am 12 pm. At the moment we have confirmed dates up until the month of May. These dates are 2/4/17, 3/4/17, 4/1/17, 5/6/17. Cleanup sites include: Cedar Beach, Mount Sinai, Fire Island Wilderness visitors Center, Shirley, Crab Meadow Beach, Huntington, Ponquogue Beach, Hampton Bays, Roanoke Beach and Riverhead. Earth Day Larchmont Reservoir Cleanup Celebrate Earth Day with the whole family by participating in a cleanup at the Larchmont Reservoir Conservancy. Town of Mamaroneck Spring Cleanup Hommocks Conservation Area, Saturday, April 22, 2017 - Earth Day! From 10AM to Noon. Meet at the Hommocks Conservation Area parking lot on Hommocks Road. Please wear long pants, sneakers, and boots (no open-toed shoes!) and bring bug spray. We will supply bags, water, snacks and gloves.
